The large amount of proanthocyanidins, a powerful antioxidant, guarantee its use to rejuvenate the body by effectively fighting free radicals.
In a 2003 mouse study, researchers mixed 5 grams of powdered Male Huanarpo in 100 ml of water and gave it to the mice to drink at will. At the end of 30 days, the group of mice that received it had increased their testosterone levels significantly, in the control group that only received water, the levels of progesterone and estrogen did not increase, these researchers attributed some of the hormonal effects to the presence of sapogenin within the chemical composition of this plant.
